What is size of standard pillow?

What is size of standard pillow? - NTBAY® HOME

Standard pillow

The standard pillow size is 20 inches x 26 inches. It is compact in size and perfect for sleepers who do not change sleep positions throughout the night. If you are a combination sleeper and toss and turn in bed while sleeping, you may slip off the pillow and cause neck pain. However, if you are a side sleeper, supine sleeper or prone sleeper, a standard size may be right for you.

One standard size pillow will fit comfortably on a double bed, while two can fit on a full and queen size bed. As one of the smallest sleep pillows you can find, it takes three standard pillows to cover the span of a king-size mattress. As a result, it is not the best choice for a king-size bed.

Queen Pillow

The standard size for queen pillows is 20 inches x 30 inches, but sizes may vary slightly from brand to brand. The extra length of the queen is beneficial to restless sleepers when compared to standard or super standard.

Queen size pillows fit snugly into a standard pillowcase. Standard and king sizes are popular pillowcase sizes.

A double bed can hold one queen pillow, and two of them fit perfectly on a queen size bed. You can fit two queen pillows snugly on a full pillow, and on a king or California king pillow, they fit comfortably on the bed with extra space in between.

King Pillow

The standard size of a king pillow is 20 inches x 36 inches, but may vary by brand. These long pillows are a convenient option for active sleepers who like to toss and turn in bed.

You can also use these pillows to support your back while you sit in bed reading or partying. The extra length helps enhance lumbar support.

You can comfortably place a king pillow on a twin or full bed and two on a king or California king bed. However, you can place two of them snugly on a queen-size bed with no space between the pillows.

King size pillows pair perfectly with king size pillowcases, and this pillow size does not fit standard pillowcases. Be sure to purchase pillowcases that specifically state they fit king size pillows.

Body pillow

A body pillow measures 20 inches x 54 inches, which is perfect for side pillows. These pillows curve to fit the shape of your body and provide proper support while sleeping on your side.

Body pillows are also beneficial for pregnant women who can place these bolsters underneath their bodies while sleeping on their sides to prevent rolling onto their abdomen or back. Side sleeping is considered to be the best sleeping position during pregnancy.

Body pillows may not be as common as other pillow sizes, so sometimes sleepers use king-size pillows as an alternative to body pillows. These pillow types require specific body pillowcases.

How to measure a pillow

Measuring a pillow may not seem like a daunting task, but if done incorrectly, you can get inaccurate measurements. Instead of using a soft tailor's tape measure, use a sturdy carpenter's tape measure. Place the two corners of the pillow on the ground and measure from one end to the other.

When measuring, make sure you do not measure diagonally or from the center of the pillow to either side. You will also notice that the pillow sizes listed above are all rounded numbers. This may require some rounding, but your measurements should also be whole numbers.

We are all different and therefore need different pillows.

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
