The four-piece bed was bright and clean when I first bought it, but with the frequent washing, the color was old and the brightness faded. So how do you make the bedding look old?
Pay attention to the first wash
Just like new clothes must be rinsed in water before being put on, bedding should also be rinsed in water before first use. Before use, the bedding can be soaked in salt or vinegar water for 5 minutes, which can disinfect, sterilize, and prevent the fading of cotton cloth. At the same time, rinsing in water can wash away the surface pulp and printing and dyeing floating color. It is softer and more comfortable when used, and will not fade easily when washed in the future. After washing and drying, it is best to dry it on the reverse side to prevent the bedding from fading after direct sunlight.
Regular cleaning twice a month
Because there is about 1/3 of the time every day that we are in close contact with our body skin, there will be a large amount of cortex that is easy to breed bacteria, so it is recommended to wash the bedding at least twice a month. The core products, only need to dry frequently, so that the core products absorb more sunlight and can be sterilized.
Separately clean the bedding of different materials and colors
Most materials can be machine washed, except for silk and mulberry silk duvet cover. Cotton fabrics cannot use detergents containing bleach ingredients. When washing the bedding, add some vinegar to increase the gloss. Avoid prolonged soaking of wool and cashmere, and avoid ironing on the surface of velvet fabrics. At the same time, light-colored products should be washed separately from dark-colored products to avoid mutual staining. Before washing products with decorative accessories, be sure to remove laces and pendants first to avoid damage.
For example, white cotton duvet cover set is our commonly used bedding, which is comfortable, close-fitting, and breathable, but the freshly washed pure cotton suit tends to wrinkle easily.
Tips:
1. Use a steam iron to iron the folded area at medium temperature. When printing and dyeing cotton fabrics are ironed, they should be ironed on the reverse side to keep the color bright for a long time.
2. After washing, dyed clothes will often fade. If the bedding is washed and then rinsed in clean water with two glasses of beer, the faded parts can be recolored.
3. Pure cotton fabric is easy to absorb moisture. When storing, it should be placed in a closet to avoid corrosion by moisture and acid gas.
4. Light-colored cotton clothing will gradually turn yellow after washing for a long time. You can add detergent in water, cook for 20-30 minutes, and then scrub with water to restore its original appearance.
Careful cleaning procedures
Generally speaking, the washing procedure is as follows: first, pour neutral detergent into the washing machine water, the water temperature should not exceed 30℃, and put the bedding after the detergent is completely dissolved, soaking time should not be too long. Because the use of alkaline detergent or the water temperature is too high or the detergent is not evenly dissolved or soaked for too long may cause unnecessary fading.
Dry and ventilate well for collection
Before storing the bedding, please clean it, dry it thoroughly, fold it neatly, and put a certain amount of mothballs to prevent insects. The mothballs should not be in direct contact with the product, and the silk bedding should not be used for mothballs. The bedding collection should be placed in a well-ventilated place, avoid excessive squeezing, so as not to damage the bedding fiber. The unused bedding that has been stored for a long time should be dried in the sun before reuse to make it fluffy.
A comfortable bed is a place that people most yearn for after a tiring day. The temperature and light in the bedroom, especially the comfort and cleanliness of the bedding will affect sleep. Only by taking good care of it, can the bedding have the best comfort.
