A comforter that has been closed for a long time always has some damp and moldy feeling, so how to eliminate the odor of the comforter?

 1、Down comforter

The down comforter is the lightest comforter, and there are three ways to remove its odor.

When there is enough sunshine, you can take the duvet out for a while, but the time should not be too long.

Hang it outside in a cool, ventilated place for 2-3 days, then pat it evenly to eliminate the unpleasant odor.

Spray lemon water on the duvet and leave it out in the shade overnight to dry, this will remove the smell from the duvet. Remember, it is better to use spray, not sprinkle, and to spray evenly

2、Down Alternative Comforter

The general down alternative comforter is actually made of chemical fiber. Fiber comforter is the most common comforter. It does not need special maintenance, but it is recommended to often sunbathe to achieve the effect of antibacterial and dehumidification. Water washing and machine washing are both available, and a neutral detergent or soap powder can be used to wash and dehydrate with the weak spin of the washing machine.

3、Cotton quilts

Cotton quilts are the most natural and healthy quilts for people who are prone to allergies. But it is also because of its natural, cotton quilt is not only beautiful, but also easy to attract moths and mold, and is also the easiest to absorb moisture. So cotton quilts, need to remove the odor often.

Method

After the sun, put a few small bags of desiccant in the folded quilt, and then put a few pieces of soap, and the odor will disappear after a few days.

Note: desiccant and soap do not pile up together, layer by layer, three or four pieces of soap will do, and do not affect the repeated use.

4、Silk quilt

Silk is rich in protein, soft and skin-friendly, but also not easy to produce mites, so silk is the first choice for women who love beauty at home. But the silk quilt will also warm up after a period of time, generally open ventilation, the odor will disappear in one to two weeks.

But the effect will be better in the sun because the temperature will accelerate the replacement of air in the stomata. Like the silk pillowcase, cannot be exposed to the sun.

5、Wool quilt

Wool quilts are the most intimate quilts. If the smell of wool appears, you can spray alcohol evenly on the wool, sprinkle a small amount of yellow rice on the wool and pump it gently, or brush it along with a soft bristle brush 1-2 times.

On the other hand, it is best not to wash the wool quilt with water. Or just leave it out in the sun for half an hour, but don't expose it to the sun. When drying, put on a duvet cover to avoid damage to the wool fibers from the hot sun.

Drying suggestions

1、Sunny day

Sunny days are best for drying quilts so that you can feel comfortable with a warm quilt.

2、Drying time

The morning is cooler is not suitable for drying quilts, 4 or 5 o'clock in the afternoon moisture slowly out, easy to make the quilt back to moisture is also not suitable, from 11 am onwards the best sun, two hours in the summer sun is enough, winter is to be more than 1 hour.

3、Turn the sun

Sun quilt is generally first inside the sun, try to do both warmth and sterilization, and then turn the sun after one and a half hours.

4、The cycle of sunbathing quilts

The quilt is generally best to sunbathe once a month, at least once every 3 months, the quilt will breed many mites over time, and people with sensitive skin will get red bumps, which is not good for health.

5、Change the season to dry the quilt

The quilt is stored in the cabinet for a long time and will inevitably be stained with some chemicals such as formaldehyde in the furniture, so be sure to sunbathe before covering it, and then cover it with confidence.

6、Can't pat the quilt

Many people like to pat the quilt in the sun when the quilt, think that this can remove the dust in the quilt, will be more fluffy, in fact, it is not, cotton fiber thick and short and fragile, pat the quilt will make the cotton fiber break into cotton dust run out, if the quilt fell on the dust, you can brush it with a brush.
