You only need to remember a few elements to build a home studio.
1 light source
I once went to buy two family photography lights to shoot a magazine blockbuster, and later used to realize: shooting children was very easy to sweat physical work, lights are shining more likely to sweat, children are also easy to feel hot, emotional fidgeting does not cooperate, and around to pull the line, always make people feel unsafe, so decided to return the photography lights.
You do not need a camera light, any sunny area of the house can be used to do shooting area, the best position by the window, the larger the window the more sunlight, the better the effect of the shot. Living in California is a blessing because it's sunny here every day!
The master bedroom is one of my main photography areas: the two large windows on the side of the bed give plenty of sunlight, plus a small reflector to supplement the shadows on the other side.
2 Background
Many baby photos will be taken in bed, the choice of bed sheets try to choose a cool tone of solid color series, such as pure white, sky blue, light gray, etc., can have a pattern, but is not recommended to be a large area of complex patterns, keep simple stripes, checks and so on. This is easier to highlight the focus on the main character as the background of the baby. A pure white toddler bed flat sheet before shooting is best ironed neatly so that the background will be shot clean.
Sky blue microfiber fitted sheets in the sunlight against the picture have a sense of cleanliness.
One of the benefits of a solid color scheme is that even if the baby is wearing similarly colored light-colored clothes, it will only enhance the cleanliness of the picture and not look strange.
Use a pillow on his back to make him stand up a little, and lay a solid-colored sheet to have a clean background for the photo, but it would be better if the sheet could be flatter.
What happens when you need a plain white background? Remember to choose a wall that faces the sunlight as much as possible, even if the light is not directly on your face, a slight side shadow does not affect the picture effect.
3 Post-processing
The equipment and scenery are good, but the photos still look very hairy how to do it?
My photo package was once full of retouching software, then I kept subtracting and cleaning up, and now these are the only ones left.
The one I use the most is VSCO, which has almost all the image processing functions, and the above "clean memory flavor" is from one of the filters I use most often.
